Safety is our main objective at Smiling W Stable. All riders must observe all standard safety procedures. These can be found in the USPC Basics for Beginners by Susan E. Harris and can be ordered from the USPC Bookstore. Riders should be acquainted with these practices before riding at Smiling W Stable.

Additionally, riders should wear long pants and boots with a moderate heel. All riders under 18 must wear a safety helmet. Riding helmets can be ordered from Jeffers Vet Supply or StateLine Tack, or they may be borrowed from Smiling W. Such helmets are also required of adult riders whenever jumping or trail riding and they are strongly recommended to wear them whenever mounted!
